Prior to the renovation, the first floor of the house had no powder room for guests. Accordingly, visitors had to use the full bath in the first floor master. Adding a powder room was a priority in the renovation but required taking space from another use. After assessing the various options, the decision was made to combine the former kitchen pantry with the former front hall closet to create this room.
The new powder room is accessed from the front hall. In order to provide enough room for the sink, the door to the closet had to be moved a few inches. The pantry door in the kitchen was sealed over.
